Cox Internet Outage
Cox Internet Outage is always frustrating. It can be difficult to find the cause of an issue without digging through mountains upon mountains of cables and other hardware. Use our tips to determine if you have Cox internet problems or cable TV issues and then plan your next steps.
What does Cox Communication do?
Cox Communications, a broadband communications company, provides high-speed internet service. Cox customers have the option to subscribe to digital video and home phone as well as home security and automation services. Cox currently serves more than six million homes and businesses across 19 states.
Cox offers fiber optic internet in certain areas, but cable internet is its primary offering. The internet provider currently has approximately 30,000 miles of what it calls “Metro Fiber.”
Cox Communications was established more than 50 years ago. It is still family-owned. It is a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises.
How do you check if Cox is down in my area?
It can be frustrating to deal with Cox Internet Outage on the Internet, TV, and phone lines. However, these steps will help you get your services back up and running. Let’s first check if your service has been disrupted by a network failure. This means that the outage affects all of your area and not just your home. Log in to My Account or use the Cox app to check the status.
These are some tips to help you get through the outage.
- Register to receive a notification text when the Cox Internet Outage has been resolved.
- Enter your mobile number into the My Account alert, or the Cox app.
- Cox Homelife will allow you to use your security system on a cellular backup until the Internet connection is restored.
- Do you need to be connected? Get free access to over 3M+ Cox Hotspots across the country with Cox Internet Premium or high.
- You can stream your favorite shows while you wait.
- With a Cox TV subscription, you can watch TV live or on-demand with the Contour app.
Why does my Cox Internet keep dropping?
Your service disruption might not be due to a network outage if you don’t see any outage alerts in My Account or the Cox App.

If you sign up for a 1-year agreement, these prices include a $10 per month discount. The prices go up to $44.99 per month for 25 Mbps and $119.99 per month for the 940Mbps plan.
StraightUp Prepaid is $50 per month and offers 25 Mbps download speeds. It also includes a modem. It is a great option for anyone looking for a simple, low-cost service. This plan does not require a credit check or a deposit and has no additional fees.
Starter Plan: Starter 25
This plan offers 25 Mbps download speeds and 3 Mbps upload speeds, enough for streaming videos, emailing, and web browsing on up to 2 devices. It costs $29.99 per month. As with all Cox plans, there is a 1.25TB data limit. The price for signing up for a year is $39.99. After 12 months, the price goes up to $44.99.
second plan: Essential 50
This 50 Mbps plan is suitable for those with a few additional devices or a gamer. If you sign up for 12 months, it will cost $39.99 per month and provide 3 Mbps upload speeds. Otherwise, it will cost $49.99. After 12 months, the price goes up to $66.99.
3rd plan: Preferred 150
This 150 Mbps plan is more suitable for serious gamers. Xbox claims it takes around an hour to download a 70GB game. The Preferred 150 plan should reduce that time by half. You’ll also appreciate the additional bandwidth if there are two or more people connected at once. This plan is $59.99 per month and offers faster upload speeds of 10 Mbps. You must agree to a 1-year term, or it will cost $69.99. After 12 months it will go up to $83.99.
4th plan: Ultimate 500
If your household uses more than seven devices simultaneously online, as well as engaging in high-bandwidth activities like streaming movies and video conferencing, an upgrade to 500 Mbps is necessary. This will be necessary if you work remotely and have children who use the internet. The Ultimate 500 is $79.99 per month and comes with a 12-month contract. It then goes up to $99.99 per month.
5th plan: Gigablast
If your household has multiple smart security cameras, streams 4K and 8K TVs, uploads or Livestreams to YouTube, or has multiple smart TVs, this fiber-only plan will provide coverage. For example, Arlo Ultra security cameras need 3 Mbps per camera. For $99.99 per month, you can get 940 Mbps – almost Gigabit Internet – and 35 Mbps upload speeds. After 12 months, the price goes up to $119.99.
