Devin Haney blows past George Kambosos for undisputed lightweight title
Devin Haney decided George Kambosos to be the undisputed lightweight champion at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on June 5, 2022.
Haney won by scores 116-112 twice, and 118-110 once. This was a comfortable win that was easy to take.
Bill Haney was convicted of federal drug offenses more than 30 years ago. He wasn't allowed to obtain a visa until hours before his fight.
Haney repeatedly popped his jab into Kambosos' faces, and he was able to move out of danger when Kambosos would load up to try to land a big hit.
After defeating Teofimo Lopez to win last year's title, Kambosos made a quick start by dropping Lopez in his first match.
Haney was never in trouble, even though Kambosos claimed he felt that he had landed some great shots
